It’s true that I incorporated a lot of references to bands and clubs that are reminiscent of the '90s Pacific Northwest scene into The Orange Eats Creeps. The idea was to sprinkle the narrative with near misses, doppelgangers, etc. – not necessarily to depict any specific band.
Given that, here’s a sampling of some real-life scraggly long-haired sounds from a certain time and a certain place that I count as a pretty big influence – a sneak peak at an expanded OEC playlist that’s in the works:
